...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central and south central Virginia, including 
  the following counties, in central Virginia, Campbell. In south 
  central Virginia, Pittsylvania.

* WHEN...Until 630 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 323 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Harpen Creek, Dry Branch, Georges Creek, Cheese Creek,
    Cherrystone Creek, Allen Creek, Fryingpan Creek, Cedar Creek,
    Clay Branch and Kemp Creek.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Altavista...                       Hurt...
    Gretna...                          Pittsville...
    Climax...                          Hodges...
    Ajax...

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

    Cherrystone Creek, Cedar Creek, Georges Creek, Allen Creek,
    Kemp Creek, Cheese Creek, Harpen Creek, Fryingpan Creek, Clay
    Branch and Dry Branch.
    Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
