...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following 
  counties, McCulloch and Menard.

* WHEN...Until 845 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 537 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.75 and 1.5 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.75 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Menard, Hext, The Intersection Of Us-83 And Highway 29, The
    Intersection Of Us-83 And Ranch Road 1773 and Us-190 Near The
    Menard-Mcculloch County Line.
  - This includes the following Low Water Crossings...
    Decker St. crossing San Saba River, Ranch Road 2291 crossing
    Las Moras Creek, Callan Lane crossing, Mahan crossing Taylor
    Branch and Blau crossing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are 
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded 
roads. Find an alternate route.
