...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following
counties, Coke, Runnels and Tom Green.
* WHEN...Until 100 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 956 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.75 and 1.25 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.75 to 1.75 inches are
expected over the area. This additional rain will result in
minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Maverick, Bronte, Tennyson, Orient, Norton and The
Intersection Of Highway 208 And Ranch Road 2662.
- This includes the following Low Water Crossings...
Mule Creek Road crossing Mule Creek, Poverty Canyon crossing
Mule Creek, Saynor crossing Mule Creek, Juniper Road crossing
just east of Highway 277, Juniper crossing Juniper Creek,
Ratliff crossing just east of Highway 277, Valley View
crossing Jack Miles Creek, Rawlins crossing, Lometa crossing
Liveoak Creek and crossings along County Road 215.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
