...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following
counties, Coleman, Concho, Runnels and Tom Green.
* WHEN...Until 200 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1051 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Ballinger, Paint Rock, Miles, Rowena, Lowake, Hatchel, Ivie
Reservoir Near Concho Park Marina, Norton, Leaday, Us-83 Near
The Concho-Runnels County Line, The Intersection Of Us-83 And
Ranch Road 1929, Ballinger Lake, The Intersection Of Ranch
Road 1929 And Ranch Road 2134 and The Intersection Of Us-83
And Ranch Road 765.
- This includes the following Low Water Crossings...
FM 1929 crossing Fuzzy Creek, FM 1692 crossing The Draw, FM
0383 crossing Quarry Creek, crossings along County Road 4508,
County Road 4508 crossing Duck Creek, County Road 330
crossing Elm Creek, County Road 261 crossing Elm Creek,
County Road 342 crossing Coyote Creek, Norton crossing Valley
Creek and CR 348 crossing Coyote Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
