The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northwestern Clark County in south central Indiana...
Southeastern Washington County in south central Indiana...
* Until 200 AM EDT.
* At 1113 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3.5
inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to 1
inch in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Blue River, New Pekin, Borden, Carwood, Blue Lick, Wilson,
Chestnut Hill, Daisy Hill, Starlight and Bennettsville.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely and have them relay your report to the National
Weather Service in Louisville.

producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3.5
inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is in progress and will
continue for the next hour.

SOUTHEASTERN WASHINGTON COUNTIES...
Heavy rainfall has ended across the region. However, flooding and
high water will continue for several more hours. The Flash Flood
Warning has been replaced with an areal flood warning until 500 AM
EDT.
