The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Eastern Clinton County in south central Illinois...
  Southern Fayette County in south central Illinois...
  Marion County in south central Illinois...

* Until 815 PM CDT Monday.

* At 211 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Centralia, Salem, Sandoval, Wamac, Central City, Odin, Kinmundy,
  Patoka, Farina, Omega, Stephen Forbes Station, Fairman, Shobonier,
  Helm, Tonti, La Clede, Iuka, Junction City, St. Peter and Alma.

Stephen A. Forbes State Recreation Area.

This includes Interstate 57 in Illinois between exits 109 and 135.

FAYETTE AND MARION COUNTIES IN SOUTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...

The heavy rain has ended. Flooding continues to impact various roads
throughout the county. A flood advisory has replaced the flash flood
warning. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 100 PM CDT Tuesday for a
portion of south central Illinois.
