HUMIDITY FOR WEBSTER COUNTY IN NEBRASKA AND JEWELL AND MITCHELL

The National Weather Service in Hastings has cancelled the Fire
Weather Watch.

Though gusty winds and dry conditions will still be possible, the
vegetation across these areas should generally be less 
susceptible to rapid wildfire spread.

HARLAN AND FRANKLIN COUNTIES IN NEBRASKA AND FOR PHILLIPS, SMITH,
ROOKS AND OSBORNE COUNTIES IN KANSAS...

The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from 1 PM this afternoon to 9 PM CDT this evening. The Fire
Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* WINDS...South to Southwest winds blowing between 15 to 25 mph
  with gusts as high as 35 to 40 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 10-20 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will spread quickly. Outdoor 
  burning is not recommended.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...North Central Kansas Locations outside of 
  the warning will still be expected to reach elevated to near-
  critical fire weather conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
