* Dust Storm Warning for...
Northwestern Imperial County in southeastern California...
Riverside County in southern California...
* Until 600 PM PDT.
* At 507 PM PDT, a wall of dust was along a line extending from 15
miles southeast of Salton City to 11 miles northeast of Westmorland
to 20 miles northeast of Brawley, moving north at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Less than a quarter mile visibility.

IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel.
* This includes the following highways...
CA Route 78 between mile markers 4 and 13.
CA Route 111 between mile markers 29 and 65.
CA Route 86 between mile markers 31 and 67.
Locations impacted include...
Salton City, Salton Sea Beach, Desert Shores, Bombay Beach,
Calipatria, Slab City, Niland, Winona, Imperial Hot Mineral Springs,
and Coolidge Springs.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Dust storms lead to dangerous driving conditions with visibility
reduced to near zero. If driving, avoid dust storms if possible. If
caught in one, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your
foot off the brake.
Motorists should not drive into a dust storm. PULL ASIDE STAY ALIVE!

NORTHWESTERN IMPERIAL AND RIVERSIDE COUNTIES...
At 541 PM PDT, a large wall of dust was along a line extending from
near Salton City to 9 miles east of Bombay Beach to 27 miles
northeast of Brawley, moving north at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Less than one quarter mile visibility with strong wind in
excess of 40 mph.
