...FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR CROOKSVILLE, NEW LEXINGTON AND JUNCTION
CITY...

The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  East Central Perry County in southeastern Ohio...

* Until 300 AM EDT.

* At 102 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain. If you are in a safe location on higher ground, do not
  travel, and shelter in place. If you are near a creek or location
  prone to flooding, move to higher ground immediately. Flash
  flooding is already occurring.

  FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Crooksville, New Lexington and Junction
  City. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER
  GROUND NOW!

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
           flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER
           GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of low water
           crossings, small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  New Lexington, Perry State Forest, Crooksville and Junction City.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free,
800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.

EAST CENTRAL PERRY COUNTY...

The heavy rain has ended. However, flooding continues to remain
across the county and a flash flood warning remains in effect.

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 800 AM EDT Friday for portions
of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, southwest Virginia, and West
Virginia.
