The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Henry County in east central Indiana...
* Until 445 PM EDT.
* At 1046 AM EDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 5 and 8
inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.25 to
1.25 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch
are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already
occurring.
This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for New Castle. This is a
PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.

IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK
HIGHER GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of
low water crossings, small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
New Castle, Knightstown, Spiceland, Shirley, Kennard, Sulphur
Springs, Mooreland, Lewisville, Mount Summit, Straughn, Dunreith,
Cadiz, Springport, Greensboro, Blountsville and Summit Lake State
Park.
Emergency management has reported that numerous roadways are flooded
across the region and evacuations are occurring. Do not drive into
flood waters.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
