The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northwestern Knott County in southeastern Kentucky...
* Until 1130 PM EDT.
* At 939 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding in
Mousie. Between 2.5 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional
rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area.
Flash flooding is already occurring.
This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for NORTHERN KNOTT COUNTY. This is
a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing
flash flooding.

low water crossings, small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Larkslane, Elmrock and Betty.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

NORTHWESTERN KNOTT COUNTY...
While the Flash Flood Emergency has expired, a regular Flash Flood
Warning remains in effect for Knott County until 1 AM EDT Friday.
The heavy rain has ended, but flooding continues. Please continue to
heed remaining road closures. Contact local law enforcement and
emergency services if flooding is affecting your location.
A Flood Watch remains in effect until 800 AM EDT Friday for portions
of east central, northeast, and southeast Kentucky.
