...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...For Highway 30 counties and areas south to the Missouri
border in central Iowa.
* WHEN...Through Saturday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Several rounds of rain have brought 2 to 6 inches of rain to
central Iowa this week. Additional rainfall is forecast later
tonight into Saturday morning. The combination of
saturated soils and high rainfall rates may overwhelm
capacity, which will increase flooding potential.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
For the latest stream observations and forecasts refer to
weather.gov/desmoines/water.
