...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH SATURDAY
AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...The burn scars surrounding the Ruidoso area.
* WHEN...From Saturday morning through Saturday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be
flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Storms will be capable of producing locally heavy rainfall with
rainfall rates in excess of 2 inches an hour resulting in the
potential for flash flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM MDT THIS MORNING THROUGH
THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...The South Central Mountains, including the Ruidoso area
burn scars.
* WHEN...From 11 AM MDT this morning through this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams on and downstream of recent burn scars may rise
out of their banks.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Heavy rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour over the burn scars
surrounding Ruidoso have the potential to produce rapid runoff
that would impact creeks and streams in the Ruidoso area. The
main risk window for flash flooding will be 2 PM to 5 PM MDT.
