...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 AM MDT EARLY THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Urban area, normally dry wash, and small stream flooding
caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Central Washington County in southwestern Utah...
* WHEN...Until 545 AM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in normally dry washes, streams, low-lying
and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 352 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban, normally dry wash, and
small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.25 inches of rain has
fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hurricane, La Verkin, Toquerville, Leeds and Pintura as well as
Ash Creek and La Verkin Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

- At 450 AM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms fell across the area. This will
cause minor flooding in normally dry washes and small streams.
Between 0.5 and 1.25 inches of rain have fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hurricane, La Verkin, Toquerville, Leeds and Pintura as well as
Ash Creek and La Verkin Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Dry
washes, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
