...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
  expected.

* WHERE...A portion of north central Maine, including the following
  county, Piscataquis.

* WHEN...Until 745 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Water over dirt North Woods roadways. Some low-water
  crossings may become impassable especially near bogs.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 439 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding and road
    washouts. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected
    over the area as additional showers move over the area. This
    additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Chamberlain Lake, Tamway and Baxter State Park.
  - This is in remote areas of the Allagash Wilderness Waterway
    and Telos Public Lands. This may impact portions of the Telos
    Road, Pinkham Road, Johns Bridge Road, 522 Road and 47 Mile
    Connector Road.
  - For flood safety visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
