...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM MDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Mudslide and flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected.
* WHERE...Southeastern Garfield County in west central Colorado,
between Carbondale and Glenwood Springs, along Highway 82...
* WHEN...Until 630 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying, poor drainage areas and
water over roadways expected. Highway 82 is susceptible to
rockfalls and mudslides in heavy rainfall.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 424 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.3 and 0.8 inches of rain
have fallen.

Glenwood Springs and Cattle Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Highway 82 is prone to rockslides and mudslides in heavy rain. Stay
alert for rocks and debris on roads, and avoid driving on flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
