...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM MDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
  expected.

* WHERE...West Central Jefferson County in central Colorado...

* WHEN...Until 530 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Rises in small streams and normally dry creeks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

    - At 332 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This may cause small stream flooding. Overflowing
    poor drainage areas may cause minor flooding in the advisory
    area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.

    - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Last Resort Creek, Buffalo Creek, North Fork South Platte River,
    Spring Creek, Long Gulch, Elk Creek and Shinglemill Creek.
    Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the
    area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

    - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Buffalo Creek and Foxton.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This may cause small
    stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas may cause minor
    flooding in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain
    have fallen.

    - This includes the following streams and drainages...

...FLOOD ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT 7 PM MDT THIS EVENING...

The Flood Advisory will expire at 7 PM MDT this evening for a portion
of northeast Colorado, including the following area, South Central
Jefferson County.

The heavy rain has ended but rain showers will continue through the
evening. Flooding is no longer expected to pose an immediate threat,
but any new heavy showers that develop could increase the threat once
again. Please continue to heed any remaining closures.
