...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Central Caldwell County in western North Carolina...

* WHEN...Until 830 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Nuisance flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to streams
  and other poor-drainage areas, including farmland, parks,
  greenways, boat-access areas, golf courses, underpasses, and
  parking lots. Isolated, shallow flows over roadways is possible. A
  few flood-prone, low-water crossings may become impassible. A
  small culvert washout or two is possible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 522 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated several period of heavy
    rain have occurred between Lenoir and Patterson over the past 2-3
    hours. A stripe of 2-3 inches of rainfall has already occurred.
    Another brief round of heavy rain, capable of producing another
    0.5-1" of rainfall over the next 30 minutes, is currently moving
    through this area. Given saturated soils, areas of excessive
    runoff are expected across the Advisory area. Swollen small
    streams may briefly reach bankfull over the next 60 minutes in
    response to this runoff. Nuisance flooding of adjacent low-lying
    areas and high flows over low-water crossings are briefly
    expected. Areas of greatest concern include in the Blair Fork
    watershed near US 321 and along Valway Rd (NC 90), along Mill
    Pond Branch near Collettsville Rd (NC 90), and Warrior Creek near
    Warrior Rd and Coy Miller Rd.

  - Some locations that may experience flooding include...
    northern Lenoir, Cedar Rock and Patterson.
