...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 PM EDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...East Central Greenville County in upstate South Carolina...
West Central Spartanburg County in upstate South Carolina...
* WHEN...Until 1045 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Nuisance flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to streams
and other poor-drainage areas, including farmland, parks,
greenways, boat-access areas, golf courses, underpasses, and
parking lots. Isolated, shallow flows over roadways is possible.
A few flood-prone, low-water crossings may be impassible.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 855 PM EDT, Heavy rainfall has departed Greenville and
Spartanburg counties. However, storm-total rainfall of 1.5-3"
occurred along the South Tyger River watershed from Lake Robinson
to Greer. This was enough rainfall to cause excessive runoff and
significant rises on small streams feeding the South Tyger River,
including Frohawk Creek near Sharon Dr, Clear Creek near SC 101
and W McElhaney Rd, and other small streams feeding Lake
Cunningham near Lake Cunningham Rd, N James Rd, and Brown Rd.
The Flood Advisory will remain in effect through 10pm to allow
high stream flows and any adjacent nuisance flooding to recede.
Please avoid area streams and flooded roadways and obey all
barricades, even if flood waters have receded, in order to allow
time for crews to assess road/bridge stability following damaging
stream flows.
- Some locations that may continue to experience nuisance flooding
include...northern Greer and areas around Lake Cunningham.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
