...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Lake IN County in northwestern Indiana...

* WHEN...Until 200 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
  may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Roads and streets may
  be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1103 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
    a line of intense thunderstorms with rainfall rates of 2 to 3
    inches per hour moving into the area. Localized flooding of
    roadways and poor drainage areas will occur shortly after the
    onset of rainfall.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Hammond, Gary, Merrillville, East Chicago, Schererville, Hobart,
    Crown Point, Highland, Munster, Cedar Lake, Lowell, Griffith,
    Dyer, St. John, Lake Station, Lakes of the Four Seasons, Whiting,
    Winfield and New Chicago.

A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in
