...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM MDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Southwestern Adams County in northeastern Colorado...
  North Central Arapahoe County in northeastern Colorado...
  Central Denver County in northeastern Colorado...

* WHEN...Until 700 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Rises in small streams and normally dry creeks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

    - At 407 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This may cause urban
    and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has
    fallen.

    - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the
    area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

    - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Northeastern Denver, northwestern Aurora, southern Thornton,
    Commerce City, Northglenn, Federal Heights, western Denver
    International Airport and Henderson.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, highways and underpasses. Additionally, country
roads, farmlands along the banks of creeks, and other low lying areas
are subject to flooding.

The Flood Advisory will expire at 7 PM MDT this evening for a portion
of northeast Colorado, including the following areas, Adams, Arapahoe
and Denver.

The heavy rain has ended. Urban area and small stream flooding is no
longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed any
remaining closures.
