...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 945 PM MDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
  expected.

* WHERE...West Central Elbert County in east central Colorado...

* WHEN...Until 945 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Rises in small streams and normally dry creeks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

    - At 644 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This may cause small
    stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.

    - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Comanche Creek, Spring Branch, East Bijou Creek, Antelope Creek
    and West Bijou Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch
    are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in
    minor flooding.

    - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Mainly rural areas of West Central Elbert County.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding of
small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland along creeks, and
other low lying areas.

The Flood Advisory for heavy rainfall is cancelled, but a new Flood
Advisory has been issued until 3 AM MDT as flooding is expected to
persist after 3 to 5 inches of rainfall fell across the area this
evening.

Please continue to heed any remaining closures.

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM MDT for portions of
central, east central, and northeast Colorado...
