...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 AM CDT FRIDAY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Central La Salle County in north central Illinois...
Southwestern Grundy County in northeastern Illinois...
* WHEN...Until 230 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Roads and
streets may be flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1134 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2
inches of rain have fallen, with the heaviest rain occurring from
La Salle to Ransom.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Ottawa, Streator, Peru, La Salle, Marseilles, Dwight, Oglesby,
North Utica, Tonica, Grand Ridge, Naplate, Lostant, Ransom, Cedar
Point, Kangley, Verona, Leonore and Kinsman.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in
the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

- At 1224 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
the heaviest rainfall had ended, but steady rain continues over
the area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain fell with earlier
storms, with the heaviest rain falling near a La Salle to Ransom
line. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in
the advisory area.

The Flood Advisory will expire at 230 AM CDT early this morning for
portions of north central and northeast Illinois, including the
following areas, in north central Illinois, La Salle. In northeast
Illinois, Grundy.
The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a
threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.
A Flood Watch remains in effect until 1000 AM CDT Friday for portions
of Illinois and northwest Indiana...
