...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 AM EDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Kentucky, 
  including the following counties, in south central Kentucky, 
  Laurel, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Wayne and Whitley. In southeast 
  Kentucky, Clay, Jackson, Knox and Owsley.

* WHEN...Until 1115 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 804 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain
    has fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Somerset, London, Manchester, Science Hill, Burnside,
    Bernstadt, Bunch, Wood Creek Lake, Hare, Carmichael,
    Pittsburg, East Bernstadt, Billows, Hightop, Hazel Patch,
    Sublimity City, Luner, Camp Wildcat, London-Corbin Airport
    and Keavy.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flood Advisory will expire at 1245 PM EDT this afternoon for 
portions of south central and southeast Kentucky, including the 
following areas, in south central Kentucky, Laurel, Pulaski, 
Rockcastle, Wayne and Whitley. In southeast Kentucky, Clay, Jackson, 
Knox and Owsley.

Flood waters have receded. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a 
threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.
