...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Northeastern Johnson County in east Tennessee...
  Northeastern Sullivan County in east Tennessee...
  Southeastern Washington County in southwestern Virginia...

* WHEN...Until 1000 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 706 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. 1 to 1.5 inches of rain have
    fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Mountain City, Glade Spring, Damascus, Laurel Bloomery,
    Emory-Meadowview and Konnarock.

...FLOOD ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT 10 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

The Flood Advisory will expire at 10 PM EDT this evening for portions
of east Tennessee, including the following areas, Johnson and
Sullivan and southwest Virginia, including the following area,
Washington.

The heavy rain has ended. Heavy runoff is likely continuing in rural
portions of Johnson and Sullivan Counties, where a flash flood
warning remains in effect. Please heed any areas where water is
running over roadways, and avoid flooded roads.
