The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  A small portion of Central San Diego County in southwestern
  California...

* Until 400 PM PDT.

* At 253 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. The expected rainfall rate is 1
  to 2 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to
  begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
           flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Julian, Hwy 78 Between Banner And S2, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park,
  Hwy 79 Between Julian And Lake Cuyamaca, Lake Cuyamaca, Hwy S1
  Between Lake Cuyamaca And Mount Laguna, Hwy S2 Between Hwy 79 And
  Hwy 78 and Banner.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING HAS EXPIRED FOR CENTRAL SAN DIEGO COUNTY...

The heavy rain has moved out of the area. However, additional
isolated showers are possible in the next few hours. Please continue
to heed remaining road closures and keep in mind that mudslides and
rockslides can occur many hours after the rain has ended.
