The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  East Central Jefferson County in central Colorado...
  Western Arapahoe County in northeastern Colorado...
  Southwestern Denver County in northeastern Colorado...

* Until 630 PM MDT.

* At 330 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
  0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. The expected rainfall rate is
  0.5 to 1 inch in 15 minutes. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, gulches,
           roads, and poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Denver, Lakewood, northeastern Littleton, Englewood, Greenwood
  Village, Sheridan, Morrison, Cherry Hills Village, Columbine and
  Ken Caryl.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flash flooding of small
creeks and streams, highways, streets, underpasses, drainage areas
and other low lying spots.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM MDT THIS
EVENING FOR EAST CENTRAL JEFFERSON, FAR NORTHWESTERN ARAPAHOE, AND
CENTRAL AND SOUTHWESTERN DENVER COUNTIES...

At 424 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain had weakened across the warned
area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional
rainfall amounts up to 0.3 inches are possible in the warned area.
Flash flooding and street flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
