* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southwestern Kershaw County in central South Carolina...
Northeastern Richland County in central South Carolina...
* Until 530 PM EDT.
* At 332 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
2 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is
2 to 2.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2
inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing
or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Columbia, Dentsville, Villages at Sandhill, Lake Carolina and
Sesquicentennial State Park.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 77 and 88.
Interstate 77 between mile markers 17 and 19.
