* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northwestern Adams County in northeastern Colorado...
South Central Weld County in northeastern Colorado...
* Until 700 PM MDT.
* At 355 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up
to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, gulches,
roads, and poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Northeastern Commerce City, Brighton, Lochbuie, Hudson, Keenesburg
and Barr Lake.
This includes the following streams and drainages...
Box Elder Creek, Third Creek, Horse Creek, Second Creek and South
Platte River.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flash flooding of small
creeks and streams, highways and underpasses. Additionally, country
roads, farmlands along the banks of creeks, and other low lying areas
are subject to flooding.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM MDT THIS EVENING
FOR NORTHWESTERN ADAMS AND SOUTH CENTRAL WELD COUNTIES...
At 503 PM MDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing
heavy rain and considerable street flooding over six inches deep over
roadways in Brighton. Between 0.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
