The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Colbert County in northwestern Alabama...
  Central Lauderdale County in northwestern Alabama...

* Until 730 PM CDT.

* At 429 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across Lauderdale and Colbert Counties. Between 2 and 3
  inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2
  inches are possible in the these areas. Flash flooding is ongoing
  or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Killen, Cherokee,
  Littleville, Leighton, St. Florian, Underwood-Petersville,
  Waterloo, Pride Landing, Oakland, Red Rock, Barton, Posey Loop, New
  Bethel, Colbert Heights, Northwest Alabama Regional Airport and Mt
  Hester.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 PM CDT THIS
EVENING FOR COLBERT AND CENTRAL LAUDERDALE COUNTIES...

At 605 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across Lauderdale and Colbert Counties. Between 2 and 3 inches
of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
possible in the these areas.

Emergency Management officials have reported flash flooding in Muscle
Shoals at the beside the intersection of Woodward and Avalon Avenues.
The parking lot was flooded here, and the drainage in the culvert
backed up again, adding several feet of floodwaters moving quickly at
the south end of the parking lot. Also: other flooded roadways were
reported in Sheffield near North Jackson Highway and Hatch Boulevard.

Please heed any barricades in these areas and dont drive through
floodwaters!
