* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northwestern Weld County in northeastern Colorado...
* Until 830 PM MDT.
* At 531 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of
rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, gulches,
roads, and poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Grover and Hereford.
This includes the following streams and drainages...
Owl Creek, Little Crow Creek, Wildhorse Creek, West Fork Willow
Creek, Howard Creek, North Fork Geary Creek, Robinson Creek, Little
Owl Creek, Coal Creek, Crow Creek, Little Simpson Creek, Willow
Creek, Geary Creek, Sand Creek and Simpson Creek.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flash flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland along creeks, and other
low lying areas.
