The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southeastern Washington County in northeastern Colorado...
* Until 1030 PM MDT.
* At 737 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
0.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts
up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, gulches,
roads, and poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Arickaree School, Anton and Elba.
This includes the following streams and drainages...
North Fork Arikaree River, Jack Creek, Arikaree River and Gordon
Creek.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flash flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland along creeks, and other
low lying areas.
