The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Maricopa County in south central Arizona...

* Until 100 AM MST.

* At 956 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
  0.75 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall
  amounts of 0.25 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash
  flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Avondale, Goodyear, Buckeye, Litchfield Park, Perryville and
  Liberty.

This includes the following highways...
AZ Route 85 between mile markers 150 and 154. AZ Interstate 10
between mile markers 104 and 113. AZ Route 303 between mile markers
105 and 106.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Beardsley Canal, Gila River, Agua Fria River, Jackrabbit Wash and
  Hassayampa River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
