The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southeastern Louisa County in southeastern Iowa...
Western Mercer County in northwestern Illinois...
* Until 330 AM CDT Sunday.
* At 923 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain in Water reported over Highway 17. Between 1
and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of
0.25 to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding
is already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Aledo, Wapello, Millersburg, New Boston, Grandview, Eliza, Joy,
Mannon, Toolesboro, Hamlet, Petersville, Snively Access Campground,
Flaming Prairie Park, Marston, Mercer County Fairgrounds, Aledo
Mercer County Airport and Gingle Corners.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

SOUTHEASTERN LOUISA AND WESTERN MERCER COUNTIES...
At 953 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing
heavy rain in Water reported over Highway 17 near New Boston, IL and
flooding on roadways in Grandview, IA. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts under a quarter inch are
anticipated in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.
