The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Eastern Lee County in north central Illinois...

* Until 115 AM CDT.

* At 1010 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  slow moving thunderstorms producing rainfall rates of 2 to 3 inches
  per hour. Up to 2.5 inches of rain have already occurred between
  Lee Center and Ashton. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to
  begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage ditches,
           streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and other poor
           drainage areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Amboy, Franklin Grove, Paw Paw, Sublette, Woodhaven Lakes, Lee,
  Compton, Steward, West Brooklyn and Lee Center.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Warning means rapid-onset flooding is imminent or may
already be occurring. Persons along creeks, drainage ditches, and
other waterways should take immediate precautions to protect life and
property.

that thunderstorms were moving out of the area and rain rates were
decreasing. Up to 3 inches of rain occurred between Lee Center and
Ashton due to earlier storms.
