The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  East Central Bell County in southeastern Kentucky...
  Southwestern Harlan County in southeastern Kentucky...

* Until 1130 PM EDT.

* At 841 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Pineville, Balkan, Callaway, Miracle, Oaks, Blackmont, Black 
  Snake, Varilla, Kettle Island, Cubage, Pathfork, Arjay, Rella, 
  Straight Creek, Cary, Blanche, Wasioto, Wallsend, Fourmile and 
  Hensley Store.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1130 PM EDT THIS 
EVENING FOR EAST CENTRAL BELL AND SOUTHWESTERN HARLAN COUNTIES...

At 1045 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that earlier thunderstorms 
produced heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches 
of rain fell. Additional thunderstorms are approaching the warned 
area. The rainfall from this next round of storms could allow any 
ongoing flash flooding to continue or worsen.
