The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  The Middle Aspen Acres Burn Scar in...
  East Central Custer County in southeastern Colorado...
  West Central Pueblo County in southeastern Colorado...

* Until 400 PM MDT.

* At 1259 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain over the Middle Aspen Acres Burn Scar. Between 0.2 and
  0.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5
  to 1 inch in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in
  debris flow moving through Middle Creek, and North Creek Drainages.
  The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other
  loose materials.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
           flash flooding in and around the Middle Aspen Acres Burn
           Scar.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around the
           Middle Aspen Acres Burn Scar.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  San Isabel, Highway 165, Beulah, Highway 78, stream crossings, and
  county roads within and immediately downstream of the burn scar.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This is a life-threatening situation for in and around the middle
Aspen Acres Burn Scar. Move away and to higher ground immediately.

Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.

IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM MDT THIS AFTERNOON FOR EAST CENTRAL CUSTER AND
WEST CENTRAL PUEBLO COUNTIES...

At 142 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain over the Middle Aspen Acres Burn Scar. Between 0.5 and 1.3
inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2
inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris
flow moving through the Middle Creek and North Creek Drainages. The
debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose
materials.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing

At 300 PM MDT, Pueblo doppler radar indicated the heavies rain has
moved off of the Middle Aspen Acres Burn Scar. However, radar
estimates 3/4 to 1 and a half inches of rain has fallen over the past
two hours, with flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris
flow moving through the Middle Creek and North Creek Drainages. The
debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose
materials.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding in and around the Middle Aspen Acres Burn
         Scar.
