* Flash Flood Warning for...
South Central Floyd County in southeastern Kentucky...
Central Knott County in southeastern Kentucky...
Northeastern Perry County in southeastern Kentucky...
* Until 1230 AM EDT.
* At 922 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.75 and 1.75 inches of
rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Hindman, Bath, Wheelwright, Pippa Passes, Ivis, Mallie, Brinkley,
Garner, Leburn, Spider, Pine Top, Drew, Nealy, Hollybush, May,
Amburgey, Littcarr, Omaha, Dirk and Carr Creek.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

FOR SOUTH CENTRAL FLOYD AND CENTRAL KNOTT COUNTIES...
At 1048 PM EDT, the public reported flash flooding in Hindman.
Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will
continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is
already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.
SOURCE...Public reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
