The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Ford County in east central Illinois...
Southwestern Iroquois County in east central Illinois...
* Until 715 AM CDT.
* At 121 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to
3.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1.5
to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 4 inches
are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly, with the worst conditions expected near
Gibson City, Elliot, Paxton, Loda, and Clarence.
HAZARD...Significant flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Rapid-onset, significant flooding of creeks, streams,
drainage ditches, low-lying areas, and poor drainage
areas. Widespread street and underpass flooding. Possible
flooding of structures. Possible flooding of highways.

Paxton, Gibson City, Cissna Park, Buckley, Melvin, Loda, Roberts,
Elliott, Sibley, Clarence and Claytonville.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flash Flood Warning means rapid-onset flooding is imminent or may
already be occurring. Persons along creeks, drainage ditches, and
other waterways should take immediate precautions to protect life and
property.
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

At 232 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated

and 6 inches of rain have fallen, with the highest amounts near
Gibson City to Paxton. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in
1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

flash flooding was ongoing in the warned area, and in particular in
and around the Paxton area. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have
fallen, with the highest amounts from near Gibson City to Paxton.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned
area. Flash flooding is ongoing, with reports of several road
closures and water in basements.

SOUTHWESTERN IROQUOIS COUNTIES HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH A FLOOD
WARNING...
Roads remain flooded in portions of the warned area. While steady
rainfall continues, the highest rainfall rates have shifted south of
the warned area and additional flash flooding is no longer expected.
