* Flash Flood Warning for...
Vermilion County in east central Illinois...
* Until 645 AM CDT Friday.
* At 1239 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Danville, Hoopeston, Tilton, Oakwood, Rossville, Potomac, Rankin,
Fithian, Vermilion Regional Airport, Bismarck, Henning, Muncie,
Collison, Alvin and Armstrong.
This includes the following State Parks...
Kickapoo State Recreation Area and Middle Fork State Fish and
Wildlife Area.
This includes Interstate 74 between mile markers 199 and 220.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

MORNING FOR VERMILION COUNTY...
At 331 AM CDT, Emergency Management reported flash flooding in
Danville. Between 2 and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen. Water
rescues are ongoing with cars under water. Blue Ridge and West View
areas in Danville have water entering houses.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Emergency management reported.
