The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central McLean County in central Illinois...

* Until 830 AM CDT.

* At 234 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported several impassable 
  roadways and multiple stalled vehicles. Between 2 and 3 inches of 
  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are 
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Bloomington, Normal, Downs and Central Illinois Regional Airport.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 39 between  mile markers 0 and 1.
 Interstate 74 between  mile markers 125 and 140.
 Interstate 55 between  mile markers 155 and 167.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

* Until 1100 AM CDT.

* At 736 AM CDT, gauge reports indicated between 4 and 6.5 inches of 
  rain have fallen overnight. Flash flooding is already occurring.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Gauges reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Bloomington, Normal, Downs and Central Illinois Regional Airport.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 39 between  mile markers 0 and 1.
 Interstate 74 between  mile markers 125 and 140.
 Interstate 55 between  mile markers 155 and 166.
