The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  The Cottonwood burn scar in...
  East Central Beaver County in southern Utah...

* Until 600 PM MDT.

* At 317 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain over the Cottonwood Burn Scar in Beaver county. Between
  0.5 and 0.75 inches of rain have fallen. A flash flood wave has
  reached camera number one in Beaver Canyon and the storm has
  currently moved into the south fork of the Beaver River with
  additional rainfall. Flows are expected to increase over the next
  hour at the Beaver River camera one area. This flood wave will
  continue to move down canyon along the Beaver River and is expected
  to reach the Grove area within the next one to two hours. Excessive
  rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow. The debris
  flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose
  materials.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
           flash flooding in and around the Cottonwood Burn Scar in
           Beaver county.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around the
           Cottonwood Burn Scar.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  The Cottonwood Burn Scar in Beaver county, Beaver Canyon downstream
  into the Grove area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This is a life threatening situation. Heavy rainfall will cause
extensive and severe flash flooding of creeks...streams...and ditches
in the Cottonwood Burn Scar. Severe debris flows can also be
anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may be washed away in
places. If you encounter flood waters...climb to safety.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

At 455 PM MDT, Peak flows have already occurred in Beaver Canyon, but
flows will remain high in the Grove area before gradually receding
over the next 1 to 2 hours. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud,
vegetation and other loose materials.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding in and around the Cottonwood Burn Scar in
         Beaver county.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE COTTONWOOD BURN SCAR WILL EXPIRE AT 7
PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR EAST CENTRAL BEAVER COUNTY...

The heavy rain has ended over the Cottonwood burn scar in Beaver
County. Flood waters continue to recede, but flows will remain
elevated compared to normal for the next several hours. Additional
flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to
heed remaining road closures.
