The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northeastern Garfield County in southern Utah...
  South Central Wayne County in southern Utah...

* Until 630 PM MDT.

* At 328 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain in Capitol Reef National Park, with the heaviest
  rainfall occurring in the Capitol Gorge area south through Sheets
  Gulch. Up to 0.25 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall
  amounts of 0.25 to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area.
  Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
           flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of normally dry washes,
           slot canyons, and creeks

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Capitol Reef National Park.

At 455 PM MDT, Capitol Reef National Park Rangers reported flash
flooding on going within Capitol Gorge. Between 0.4 and 0.6 inches of
rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

NORTHEASTERN GARFIELD AND SOUTH CENTRAL WAYNE COUNTIES...

The heavy rain has ended across Capitol Reef. Flood waters have
receded. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat. Please
continue to heed remaining road closures.

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 1200 PM MDT Friday for portions
of central, southern, and southwest Utah.
