The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Eastern Tooele County in northern Utah...
* Until 915 PM MDT.
* At 622 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated severe thunderstorms
producing heavy rain in The old Jacob City Burn Scar and
surrounding canyons. Between 0.5 and 0.75 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.75 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks, streams,
normally dry washes.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Ophir and Stockton.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 915 PM MDT THIS
EVENING FOR EASTERN TOOELE COUNTY...
At 744 PM MDT, Tooele County emergency management reported a heavy
flow moving down Soldier Creek in Soldier Canyon, but it is remaining
within its banks. Between 0.5 and 1.25 inches of rain have fallen.
Flash flooding is already occurring within Soldier Creek.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Emergency management reported.
