The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
The Babylon Burn Scar in the Cotton Wood Creek Drainage...
* Until 745 PM MDT.
* At 548 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain over the Babylon Burn Scar in the Cotton Wood Creek
Drainage. Between 0.2 and 0.4 inches of rain have fallen. The
expected rainfall rate is 0.6 to 1 inch in 1 hour. Flash flooding
is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Excessive rainfall over
the burn scar will result in debris flow moving through the Cotton
Wood Creek Drainage. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud,
vegetation and other loose materials.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding in and around the Babylon Burn Scar in the
Cotton Wood Creek Drainage.

debris flows can also be anticipated across roads. Roads and
driveways may be washed away in places. If you encounter flood
waters...climb to safety.

* At 735 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain over the Babylon Fire Scar feeding into Stevens Canyon,
North Cottonwood Canyon and Salt Creek Canyon. Between 0.4 and 0.8
inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result
in debris flow. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud,
