The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Socorro County in central New Mexico...

* Until 645 PM MDT.

* At 338 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated slow moving thunderstorms
  producing heavy rain west of Bosque Del Apache in the San Mateo
  Mountains. Between 2.25 and 3.25 inches of rain have fallen.
  Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.5 inches are possible in
  the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Mainly rural areas of Southwestern Socorro County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create sudden and
dangerous flows in arroyos and over low water crossings. Turn around
dont drown!

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM MDT THIS
EVENING FOR SOUTHWESTERN SOCORRO COUNTY...

At 408 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated that thunderstorms producing
heavy rain in the San Mateo Mountains west of Bosque Del Apache had
ended, but light was persisting. Between 2.5 and 3.5 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.25 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Mainly rural areas of Southwestern Socorro County.

New Mexico road 107 west of Interstate 25 may become inundated with
fast flowing water and should be avoided.
