The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Muskingum County in east central Ohio...
* Until 315 AM EDT.
* At 1208 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have
fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Zanesville, New Concord, South Zanesville, North Zanesville, Philo,
Pleasant Grove, Fultonham, Norwich, Duncan Falls, Bridgeville,
Cannelville, Chandlersville, Drake, Ruraldale, East Fultonham, High
Hill, Blue Rock State Park and Dillon State Park.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 AM EDT EARLY THIS
MORNING FOR MUSKINGUM COUNTY...
At 217 AM EDT, local law enforcement reported several inches of fast
moving water causing road closures along US40 west of Zanesville.
Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall
rate is 0.5 to 1.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of
0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

The heavy rain has ended. Flood waters have receded. Flooding is no
longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed remaining
road closures.
A Flood Watch remains in effect until 800 AM EDT Monday for portions
of east central Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
