The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
East Central Greenlee County in southeastern Arizona...
* Until 815 PM MST.
* At 514 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible
in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Mainly rural areas of East Central Greenlee County.
This includes the following streams and drainages...
Sardine Creek, Coal Creek, Right Prong Dix Creek, Pat Creek, San
Francisco River, Harden Cienega Creek, Left Prong Dix Creek, Blue
River, Pigeon Creek, Indian Creek and Dix Creek.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
