* Until 315 PM EDT.
* At 1211 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain
has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible
in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas. Parts of the warned area
received between 2 and 3 inches of rainfall from overnight
thunderstorms and is particularly vulnerable to additional
heavy rainfall.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Point Pleasant, Ripley, Pomeroy, Racine, Ravenswood, Sissonville,
New Haven, Mason, Kenna, Sandyville, Middleport, Syracuse, Hartford
City, Henderson, Leon, Cheshire, Evans, Given, Fairplain and
Cottageville.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 115 and 151.
Interstate 79 between mile markers 15 and 18.
