The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
South Central Graham County in southeastern Arizona...
* Until 400 PM MST.
* At 100 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen on the eastern and northern faces of Mount Graham.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Safford, Thatcher, Roper Lake State Park, Swift Trail Junction,
Frye Mesa Dam and Mount Graham.
This includes the following highways...
Route 191 between mile markers 114 and 120. Route 70 between mile
markers 336 and 341.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
